Volunteers are the heart and soul of Gamble Garden. They run classes and events, raise funds, and keep the house and gardens fresh and beautiful for all to enjoy. Artists have been capturing landscapes for centuries, but before the late 1800s it was more common to do a rough sketch outdoors and finish the work in the studio. Outdoor painting gained momentum when Impressionist painters emerged from their studios. On May 23rd members enjoyed a tour of a private garden at an Atherton, CA home. Incoming Board President Joan Sanders opened her home to Gamble Garden members, who spent a delightful afternoon admiring the landscaping and decor.
