On Wednesday, June 30th, the Endowment Fund Committee hosted a reception to celebrate the installation of Gamble’s newest Endowment Fund Bricks and to welcome the newest members of the Elizabeth Gamble Garden ’02 Legacy Society. Last year’s party was cancelled due to the panic, so ’02 Legacy Society Members and Endowment Fund Bricks for both 2020 and 2021 were honored.
Guests were welcomed into the Carriage House Courtyard with Gamble wines and refreshments. The event kicked off with welcome speeches from Sarah Cornwell, Gamble Executive Director, and Corey Barnes, Garden Director. Next, a recognition of bricks and honoring of Gamble Garden donors was led by Pat Davis, Endowment Fund Committee Chair and Carol Friedman, Endowment Fund Committee Co-Chair. Friends and family members spoke a few words about the person they were honoring for tribute and memorial bricks, sharing their connections with Gamble and their thanks. The evening concluded with a visit to the Gamble Gazebo where all the new bricks have been installed.
’02 Legacy Society
Named after the year when the Gamble House was built, the Elizabeth Gamble Garden ’02 Legacy Society honors those who have remembered Gamble Garden in their estate plan. This year, the ’02 Legacy Society welcomes its newest member, William Reller. Bill, a longtime Palo Alto resident and realtor, is a senior housing advocate and owner of the Palo Alto Commons. He has supported numerous local institutions including Gamble Garden, the Peninsula Open Space Trust, the Palo Alto Board of Realtors, the Palo Alto Community Foundation and the YMCA.
