Roots & Shoots is a garden-based science field trip program for schools. Students in grades K-3 learn about nature, ecology, the environment, nutrition, and community through first hand exploration in the garden and hands-on activities. The Roots & Shoots curriculum is tied to the California state science standards and utilizes every aspect of Gamble Garden’s exceptional garden as its learning laboratory. On a Gamble Garden field trip, students work in small groups with our talented garden guides to experience nature first-hand and learn about the world around them.
