Roots & Shoots is a garden-based science field trip program for second and third grade elementary school students. With five different themes to choose from, students learn about nature, ecology, the environment, and community through hands-on exploration in the garden. The Roots & Shoots curriculum is based on the Next Generation Science Standards and utilizes every aspect of Gamble Garden’s exceptional garden as its learning laboratory. Students work in small groups with our talented volunteers to learn about the world around them and experience the wonder of nature.
