Rose Pruning Workshop

Date:

Saturday, December 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location:
1431 Waverley Street
Palo Alto, CA 94301 United States

Gain the knowledge and confidence to prune your roses with skill and intention in this interactive class at Gamble Garden. Combining a short classroom lecture with live demonstrations and practical garden learning, this class will take you from pruning fundamentals to putting your new skills into practice.

We’ll cover essential terminology, timing, basic aesthetic pruning techniques, and how to evaluate a rose and decide which branches to remove. You’ll also learn how pruning techniques vary among different types of roses and see these principles demonstrated on actual specimens throughout the garden. You’ll even have the opportunity to practice your technique and receive guidance as you work with living roses.

Led by Gamble Garden’s Garden Manager, this is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a horticulturist with more than 20 years of experience tending Gamble Garden’s roses. Whether you’re new to rose pruning or looking to refine your skills, you’ll leave with a better understanding of the “why” behind each cut—and the confidence to put that knowledge to work in your own garden.
