Learn the basics of growing your own winter vegetables in this hands-on vegetable gardening class. This class covers what plants need to thrive. You’ll learn to raise common cold-season veggies like broccoli, peas, and cabbage, from seed to harvest. It’s designed for the beginning and hopeful backyard gardener. You’ll watch and practice potting plants, then finish with a tour of the edible garden.
This class is suitable for adults and teens. Please bring garden gloves if you have them. All other supplies are included, and gloves will be available.

Instructor Bio
Grace has spent the past three years at Gamble Garden, where she leads the edible garden and our Roots and Shoots children’s field trip program. She brings a varied background to her work. She holds a degree in Anthropology from St. Mary’s College of California, and has worked as an event coordinator, landscape designer, and baker. That mix shows up in how she teaches: hands-on, welcoming, and grounded in the garden itself.
