Gamble Garden welcomes you to spend a beautiful December morning with us in a safe, distanced way! Come and explore our historic house and unique three-acre garden. Choose a guided garden tour or a family-friendly nature hunt. This month’s theme is Wintry Trees. Second Saturdays are free and open to all. Registration is required.
For Adults: Free Guided Garden Tours
Come along to discover over two dozen distinct tree species in our garden. While several are native to the San Francisco Bay Area, others are specimens from Asia, Europe, and Australia. Winter is a lovely time of year to appreciate trees — their canopies sway in the wind, exposed trunks are illuminated by the low winter sun, and deeply colored fruits cling to bare sleeping branches!
For Families: Free Guided Nature Hunts
Many creatures visit Gamble Garden for food, nesting or resting. Your family is invited to join a Gamble Garden Guide as we explore the many animals and plants that can be found throughout the garden. We’ll get our “nature eyes” working as we explore, look for birds and pollinators, overturn rocks and logs, and discover the many different ways the garden provides habitat for animals, both big and small. The Nature Hunt is ideal for families with children ages 3-10.
Nature Activity Table: Terrifically Tree-mendous Trees
Our new “take away” hands-on activities let little scientists safely get up close and personal with terrifically tree-mendous trees!
