Gamble Garden proudly presents an exciting plaster bas-relief workshop on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025. The practice of cast bas-relief dates back to historical Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome. Students will learn this technique by using white clay and plaster, plus garden foliage, to create a visually-compelling botanical plaster tile. Bas-relief is a type of sculpting in which figures (foliage) are raised slightly from the background (plaster), thus giving it a three-dimensional presence. While the plaster is curing, you will make a greeting card with botanical prints. All materials provided. No experience required. Suitable for ages 13 and up.
