All ages are invited to spend a beautiful morning at Gamble Garden. This month’s theme is harvest tastings! Garden staff will harvest, prepare, and label fresh samples straight from our edible garden for you to taste on site (please note, this is a tasting event, not a harvest to take home). Doug Kalish, PhD will give a talk on food plants native to North & South Americas, covering what we can grow here, including some of the very plants you’ll taste that day. Second Saturday is free and includes activities such as:
- Harvest tastings
- Talk on food plants native to North & South America
- Scavenger hunts
- Paper bag scarecrow craft station
- Storytime led by a Palo Alto Librarian
- A visit to Elizabeth’s house
- Guided tours
- Small selection of plants available for sale
This month’s community partners include La Comida, Almost Eden, Fresh Approach, the Palo Alto Library, and Master Gardeners.
Register for one of three timed entry slots: 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 AM. When you arrive, stop by one of our two Welcome Tables to check in and get started on the morning’s tours and activities.

Registration fees are nonrefundable. If Gamble Garden cancels an event due to low enrollment, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, registration fees will be refunded (less applicable service charges).
