Over The Garden Fence (OTGF) is Gamble’s signature tag sale, featuring gently-used high quality items at fabulous prices. Throughout the year, OTGF volunteers accept and catalog donations of objects d’art, dinnerware, linens, glassware, home decor, garden accessories, and more from individuals and estates. The items are sold twice a year at Gamble’s Spring Tour and Winter Festival fundraisers. Popular with local collectors, resellers, and bargain hunters, OTGF is a major fundraiser for Gamble Garden each year.
The Online Sales Associate is responsible for preparing and selling select items on eBay. Responsibilities include:
- Working with OTGF committee heads to determine which items are suitable for sale on eBay
- Photographing items for online sale
- Writing detailed item descriptions for online sale
- Tagging items for online sale to provide maximum exposure
- Listing items for online sale on eBay
- Monitoring online sales
- Packaging and mailing sold items to customers
Skills required:
- Familiarity with online sales platforms
- Familiarity with taking and uploading digital photos
- Descriptive writing skills
- Seasonality: year-round
- Time commitment: 3-4 hours per week (schedule flexible)
Donation Receiving Assistant
DONATION RECEIVING ASSISTANT

The Donation Receiving Assistant is responsible for receiving and processing items donated by individuals. Responsibilities include:
- Greet and assist donors at the donation drop-off location within Gamble Garden
- Transport donation items from drop-off location to storage.
- Answer questions regarding tax liability, item condition, OTGF, etc…
- Provide acknowledgement and tax donation forms
- Assist donors in filling out forms
Skills required:
- Friendly, customer-oriented, positive attitude
- Communication & active listening skills
- Basic data entry
- Ability to bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Seasonality: September 2023 – November 2023
- Time commitment: Tuesdays and Fridays 10am-12pm
Winter Festival Light Crew
WINTER FESTIVAL LIGHT CREW

Winter Festival is Gamble Garden’s newest major fundraiser. Now in its fifth year, the festival features daytime and evening holiday activities for families including a tree lighting, holiday lights, holiday tree raffle, and seasonal shopping.
The Winter Festival Light Crew is responsible for implementing the Winter Festival’s holiday lighting plan. Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Winter Festival Lighting Coordinator and other Light Crew members to develop a lighting plan that will enhance the Winter Festival decor and work with Gamble’s existing wiring.
- Set up outdoor lighting according to the lighting plan before the event.
- Take down outdoor lighting after the event.
Skills required:
- Some knowledge of electrical wiring and lighting configurations, power load, etc.
- Ability to use basic tools & equipment such as extension cords, light bulb testers, power screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Seasonality: September 1, 2023 – January 10, 2024
- Time commitment: As needed
Marketing Committee Member
MARKETING COMMITTEE MEMBER

The Marketing Committee is a new initiative at Gamble Garden and is seeking volunteer members who are interested in collaborating with 6 – 8 member volunteers as well as Gamble’s Executive Director and Gamble’s Marketing Specialist.
Goals of the Marketing Committee include
- Identify Gamble’s target audience(s)
- Identify marketing channels
- Brainstorm / develop marketing strategies
- Develop consistent marketing messages
- Develop metrics for gauging progress
Committee member responsibilities include
- Perform independent research and analysis
- Think creatively to identify new approaches
- Attend monthly meetings (approximately 1 hr per meeting, meetings may be held remotely)
- Contribute to monthly reports for the Gamble Garden Board of Directors
Skills desired
- Knowledge or experience in product analysis, data analysis, market research, and/or public relations
- Knowledge or experience in online marketing, social media
- Knowledge of web page management, graphic design apps, QR code apps, and other digital marketing tools
- Familiarity with Gamble Garden customers
- Familiarity with the nonprofit/historical home & garden space
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
Drone Videographer
DRONE VIDEOGRAPHER

We are looking for a volunteer drone videographer to produce a 1-minute video featuring the Gamble Garden property. The video will be used for marketing and promotional purposes. The video should include drone footage of Gamble Garden landmarks, including the Gazebo, Cutting Garden, Carriage House, Greenhouse Rose Garden, Allee, Carriage House, Driveway, and Main House.
Responsibilities include:
- Fly a drone to capture aerial footage of Gamble Garden.
- Edit the footage to create and edit a 1-minute video.
- Ensure that the video meets Gamble’s branding and marketing guidelines.
Skills desired
- Must own their own drone and be able to operate it safely.
- Ability to capture and edit video footage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
