All ages are invited to join a guided tour of the historic house and gardens on a beautiful September morning. The garden will be bountiful with fruits and vegetables ready for harvest!
FREE ACTIVITIES
*Activity list subject to change*
For Adults: Free Garden & House Tours
Our September guided tours will include a look at Gamble’s exciting edible garden and some surprising facts about the fascinating nightshade family of plants (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and many others.) Our historic house will be open and decorated to celebrate the harvest.
For Families: Free Guided Nature Hunts
Families will love our experiential exploration of the garden and our fun hands-on activities for kids. Walk between rows of giant corn stalks, look up at tall dinner plate sized sunflowers, taste our home grown peppers and tomatoes, marvel at weird and wonderful squash! And don’t forget to search in our ever popular worm bin and compost critters to see what lives underground!
For Families: Story Time
Kids and their grown ups will love sitting in the shade for our story time experience. Thank you to the Palo Alto Public Library and youth librarian, Miss Devon.
For All: The Great Gamble Tasting Competition
Taste our home grown peppers and tomatoes, and vote on the ones you like best!
REGISTRATION
Second Saturday is free and appropriate for all ages. Register for timed entry at 10, 10:30, and 11 AM. Register in advance or at the door. We look forward to seeing you on Second Saturday!
