OUR NOVEMBER SECOND SATURDAY HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO POOR AIR QUALITY.
Second Saturdays are wonderful for all ages but ideal for kids 3-10 years old and their grown-ups.
nature hunts
Many creatures visit Gamble Garden for food, nesting or resting. Join Garden Director Richard Hayden and our Gamble Guides as we explore the many animals and plants that can be found throughout the garden. We’ll get our “nature eyes” working as we explore, look for birds and pollinators, overturn rocks and logs, and discover the many different ways the garden provides habitat for animals, both big and small. In addition, children can enjoy nature crafts inspired by the plants and animals at Gamble.
Bring binoculars and a magnifier if you have them. If it’s raining, bring your rain boots.
Meet in the picnic area. (map for Nature Hunt)
WORM MEASURING CONTEST
Get your competitive spirit fired up and join our Worm Measuring Contest! We’re stocking a compost bin with earthworm “contestants”. Kids will use trowels to dig and find the longest earthworm. Each worm’s length will be recorded alongside the name of its discoverer. After a winner is announced, the worms will be returned to the soil.
NATURE CRAFTS
Children can enjoy nature crafts inspired by the plants and animals at Gamble.
