Celebrate the Start of Spring at Gamble Garden at our March Second Saturday!

Gamble Garden welcomes you to spend a wintry morning with us searching for signs of spring.  Explore our unique three-acre garden in a guided garden tour or family nature hunt. Second Saturdays are free and open to all.

For Adults: Free Garden Tours

Our March tours will include a look at Gamble’s captivating camellias, many of which Miss Gamble purchased from Toichi Domoto, a Japanese-American pioneer camellia grower and world-class hybridizer. As a member of the American Camellia Trail, we look forward to sharing our collection of 50+ camellia cultivars with you.

For families with kids ages 3-10: free guided nATURE HUNTS

Many creatures visit Gamble Garden for food, nesting or resting. Join Garden Director Richard Hayden and our Garden Guides as we explore the many animals and plants that can be found throughout the garden. We’ll get our “nature eyes” working as we explore, look for birds and pollinators, overturn rocks and logs, and discover the many different ways the garden provides habitat for animals, both big and small.

Family nature hunts and adult garden tours will be offered at 10 AM, 10:30 AM, and 11 AM. Tours will depart from the Carriage House and last 30 minutes. We lead our tours rain or shine. During the rainy season, we encourage you to bring your poncho and rain boots! Please register below.

Bring binoculars and a magnifier if you have them. Download a map to Gamble Garden here.

Nature Craft Table: Captivating Camellias

After exploring the garden on your tour or nature hunt, boys and girls will have fun trying a variety of hands-on nature activities at our nature craft tables.
