This Macro Photography Workshop will walk students through the hidden and often beautiful tiny worlds we rarely get to see. Photographer Tom Upton will review the use of macro lenses: the choices, the operation, the challenges and the beautiful. Focus and Depth of Field come into play with Macro Photography, so Tom will present these factors in the context of sharpness, composition and color. At this point you will be released into the wild of the Gardens and Tom accompany students to demonstrate techniques and help students shoot on their own.
This class is suitable for adults and teens. Please note, each student will need a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, a macro lens and a tripod. Please be familiar with Manual Mode as well.
Class size will be limited to 10 attendees to enable Tom to help and coach everyone at some point. It will be held indoors in the Carriage House and around the gardens.
Gamble Garden follows Santa Clara County Public Health Department COVID-19 requirements and guidelines. Masks are strongly recommended indoors but are not required.
