Have you ever wondered what to do with all your kitchen or garden waste? Good! This workshop is for you! We will explore the world of compost from a practical, how-to perspective. This two-hour, not too technical, exploration into the world of organic waste recycling will leave you feeling that composting can be done by anyone while forever changing the way you look at your potato peelings. Join us to learn about how one small act of waste diversion at your home can have major positive impacts on the environment, the soil and our society.
This workshop is sponsored by the University of California Cooperative Extension Compost Education Program (UCCE CEP) in partnership with the cities and county of Santa Clara. The UCCE CEP offers Community Classes on composting throughout the county as well as technical resources.
This free composting workshop will be led by Master Composters, an all-volunteer group that specializes in teaching residents how to build compost piles and worm bins, then how to apply the resulting material in their landscapes and gardens.
