Winter finds our gardens missing the bounty of spring and summer flowers. But, we still want to bring the garden inside. Joan will show the wealth of materials to be found in the winter garden. Evergreen foliage offers a myriad of shades of green and other colors. Come to Gamble garden to learn how to use Winter’s bounty to create beautiful green arrangements. After the demonstration, we will raffle off the arrangements.
Joan Sanders has lived in this area since 1970. She studied flower arranging with Virginia Farewell for 25 years. Ms. Farewell focused on using flowers and other materials from one’s own garden, using what is in season. In 1997 Joan was instrumental in the start of the Floral Design program at Filoli and the hiring of Ann Patrick to teach the classes there. She has served on the Floral Design Committee at Filoli for many years, helping to create beautiful arrangements there.
