Instructor Bio:

Katsy Swan is a renowned garden designer in the Bay Area. For over 30 years, she has been designing private and public gardens throughout the area, including in Hillsborough, Woodside, and Atherton. Several of Katsy’s Palo Alto gardens have been on Gamble Garden’s Spring Tour throughout the years. She earned her landscape design degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Katsy’s most rewarding work comes from her designs for hospital gardens including the UCSF Cancer Center courtyard garden and the Earth Sciences Courtyard at Stanford. Since 1989, Katsy has designed the Stanford Hospital gardens, projects that are completely paid for with donations from private donations.

Katsy has given lectures and teaching gardening classes and Gamble for over 20 years. “Participants have access to me without hiring me,” she said. “If they just want ideas, they can come to my classes.”
