Composting Workshop: Worm Composting & Composting for Small Spaces
Learn about using worms to recycle your food waste into a slow-release fertilizer! This workshop is best for those living in multifamily units or other homes without yard waste. Recycling your food waste reduces greenhouse gas emissions and is fantastic for your garden and house plants. This is a free workshop, registration is required.
This workshop will be led by the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), Santa Clara County’s Composting Education Program (CEP). The UCCE CEP is a partnership with the cities and county of Santa Clara that seeks to educate our community about composting. In addition to a Master Composter training course the UCCE CEP offers Community Classes throughout the county as well as technical resources. Master Composters teach residents how to build compost piles and worm bins, then how to apply the resulting material in their landscapes and gardens.
