Instructor Bio

Dorothy Hunter shares that her earliest memories in childhood involved the love flowers! It was around 2001, she began to study botanical art at Filoli and graduated from their Botanical Art Certification program. From there she taught Botanical Art at Filoli, Lady Bird Johnson’s Wildflower Center and the Atherton Arts Foundation. Her medium of choice is colored pencil, but also enjoy watercolor, graphite and pen/ink; as long as it involves botanicals! She feels Gamble Garden is an ideal location to begin a botanical art program because of the incredible gardens that offer beautiful specimens year around. Come join the class, and let your love of the garden appear on paper
