April Second Saturday: Family Spring Celebration

April Second Saturday: Family Spring Celebration

Date:
Saturday, April 9, 2022, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Celebrate the Start of Spring at Gamble Garden!

Gamble Garden welcomes you to spend a beautiful April morning with us searching for signs of spring.  Explore our unique three-acre garden in a guided tour or a fun family nature hunt.  Second Saturdays are free and open to all.

For Adults: Free Garden Tours

The thirty-minute tour will include a look at the gardens as they reach their early spring perfection. The tour’s April focus: wildflowers and plants that grow wild around the world.

For Families: Free Guided Nature Hunts

Come get your “nature eyes” working as we explore throughout the garden.  We’ll look for birds and pollinators, dig for worms and critters in the soil, and discover wild plants, both big and small.

Nature Activity: Take a walk on the wild side and make your own poetry!

Young and old will have fun finding inspiration in what’s wild at Gamble! In honor of National Poetry Month, write your very own poem, with the help of three accomplished poets Veronica Kornberg, Jade Bradbury, and Mia Malhotra.

For your enjoyment, awe-inspiring native wildflowers and cuttings of native perennials will be on display, courtesy of the California Native Plant Society, Santa Clara Valley Chapter.

Visit Elizabeth’s House

Walk through Elizabeth’s house, built in 1902, and get a look into the early days of Palo Alto.  Our docents will be on hand to answer questions and share stories of old.  Gamble Garden follows Santa Clara County Public Health Department COVID-19 requirements and guidelines. Masks are strongly recommended indoors but are not required.

Registration

Second Saturday is free and open to all. Register for timed entry at 10, 10:30, or 11 AM. Register online below, or at the gate.
